This weekend sees us take on our long training run...or the Limerick Marathon as some of you insist on calling it...
Back in January we convinced ourselves that taking on a 26.2 mile long training run in Limerick would be the best approach to training for Portumna. There would be support, we wouldn't have to worry about setting a route and water would be supplied, and we'd even get a medal at the end - for a long training run?!?!. What more did we need?
Hey...it might be a coincidence that it's exactly the same distance as a marathon, that there are crowds around and that there is some other event on the same day, running the exact same route...
So... this weekend we are most definitely not running a marathon, it's a long training run.
Like it says in the title...a little self delusion goes a long way...26.2 miles if you want to get all exact and scientific about it... :)
Best of luck to everyone taking part in the Limerick Long Training Run this weekend
